Each day presents new opportunities, challenges, gifts, and stressors, no matter what stage of life we are in. I believe everyone is deserving of mental wellbeing, and that we all hold the strength and resilience to achieve it. I believe that compassion and connection are the keys to growth and change, and I use my strengths of empathy, humor, and a non-judgmental approach to build strong, trusting relationships with my clients. I strive to create a warm and nurturing environment for clients to experience feelings of safety and stability to heal and cultivate lasting change.
I have been working in the mental health field for over 15 years, and have practiced as a licensed therapist for the past 12+ years. I have training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Adlerian Play Therapy, AutPlay, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am passionate about the field of play therapy, and serve as the Vice President for the Iowa Association for Play Therapy. I was awarded the 2017 Mentorship Award from the Iowa Association for Play Therapy and the 2021 All Star Award from the Corridor Business Journal. In addition to practicing therapy, I also provide clinical supervision to therapists who are new to the field or are pursuing credentials in play therapy.
